Hollywood Movies.

Proposition: Hollywood produces great movies, but they don't always tell the truth even it is based on 'true stories' .

I disagree with the statement because even in Malaysian movies, the directors and producers exaggerate in their based on true stories movies. This happened when people only care for the money and the fame instead of telling others the truth. I also learnt that Hollywood movies are the same with the Malaysian movies, too.

As an example, the movie Catch Me If You Can starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hanks is based on the true story about one of the most famous con-artist in the 20th century. This movie is about how he managed to cash almost $2.5 millions of bad checks without getting caught by the polices. In the movies, he is portrayed as a person who had many problems including family problems and his wife cheating on him. However, the true events doesn't say anything about the real person having these kind of problems. This showed that in order to make the movie more dramatic, the producer changed some of the plot and make it more intense and attractive.

Another example is the movie 127 hours, which based on the real event about a canyoneer, Aron Ralston who was trapped in the boulder in an isolate canyon. This movie showed the journey of Aron which get stuck in the canyon alone and how he had to cut his arm with just a dull multi tool. In the movies, they stated that he found two hikers and he leads them through the narrow canyon. After that, he left the hikers and continue his journey. However, a boulder fell to the bottom of the canyon, hitting his arm and leads to him being stuck in the canyon. In the real event, the real Aron didn't say anything about him meeting the two hikers and leads them to the canyon. This is just the producer trick just to make the movie much more interesting and to make the plot longer and attract people to watch it.

Conclusion, producers and directors tend to exaggerate and adds more dramatic scene in order to make their movies interesting and make more money.

Prisoners to get varsity-level courses~

According to the article dated 3March 2013, The Prisons Department has started the courses for the prisoner to enhance them with skills and educational. This courses could give many benefits to the prisoners and the country. From my opinion, I strongly agree with this statement because prisoners should be given the opportunity to further their studies in order to continuing their life after serving their sentence.

In addition, Home Affairs Ministry's deputy secretary-general Datuk Wahab Mohd Yasin inform that around 1,700 young prisoners were undergoing studies in the Prison Integrity Schools. This statement shows that those prisoner could continue their studies and this has proven that around 1,754 prisoners has received certificate in skills training with excellent result.

Lastly, i believe that this project could decrease the level of repeats prisoners that have been returning after being released.Public shouldn't underestimate these prisoners even though they have done crime they still are human.

Stereotyping~

What is stereotyping?Stereotyping is a categorizing system by public that belief anything through their assumption. Stereotypes are not just centered on different races and backgrounds, however. Gender stereotypes also exist. For example, if you say that men are better than women, you’re stereotyping all men and all women. If you say that all women like to cook, you are stereotyping women.

Why is it bad to stereotype?

Stereotyping is not only hurtful, it is also wrong. Even if the stereotype is correct in some cases, constantly putting someone down based on your preconceived perceptions will not encourage them to succeed.
Stereotyping can lead to bullying form a young age. Abu and Ali pick on the Nerds and the Geeks; Skaters pick on the Goths, so on and so forth. Stereotyping is encouraging bullying behavior that children carry into adulthood.
Stereotyping can also lead people to live lives driven by hate, and can cause the victims of those stereotypes to be driven by fear. For example, many gays and lesbians are afraid to admit their sexuality in fear of being judged. It is a lose-lose situation, both for those who are doing the stereotype and those who are victims.

View on Pregnant Women Working In Industrial work placement~

From my point of view,  pregnant women shouldn't working because there are many risks could happen to the womb. For example the work that require hours of standing could affect the unborn baby to be premature birth because studies have found that long hours of standing during the last half of pregnancy will disrupt the flow of blood. Moreover, they need to take more rest rather than doing work that require lots of energy.
